My friend said to me the other day, “Parents always want a son or a daughter. They never want the person that happened to be their son or daughter.”

Meaning : people always have this image in their head about somebody else’s character and rarely accept somebody else just the way they are.

Sometimes people even enforce their image to somebody, and when they have resistance, they said, “I don’t like you, you’re not what i imagine in my head.”

And the funny things is, a lot of people that want to fulfill those images that created by others. They are not completely free because their choices are limited by perception by others.

Free yourself from your peers’ opinions, views and all that they think you should be.

1. You really, really want to know what others think, write and say  about you. Sometimes you even put up an act to please your crowd.
2. You didn’t care about the cost as long as you look “Good” in the eyes of others.
3. You photoshopped other people’s life as well according to your perspective.

I often wonders why with so much gadgets and tools, that make our lives easier to prepare food, wash dishes, look after their children and clean house, people still wish that they have more time in one day. Cavemen hunt, take whatever they get home, skin the animal, cook it and then eat it, while we can order by phone and make it delivered to our house. Isn’t that a bit greedy to ask for more hours in one day, and more days in a week?

How many of you have :

1. Go to a meeting and realise that you’re there for your ears and eyes only, and not your mouth.
2. Go to a meeting and after a long brainstorming, resolves nothing.
3. Go to a meeting and realize that the people that really understand the subjects are not invited.

Well, can I be blamed if I go late to a meeting and leave early? But, I’m not late, I’m living in soft time.

“soft time”, a term that has been coined to describe the thinking of a cell-phone user who calls at 8:20 to say he will be late for the 8:30 meeting, arrives at 8:45, and considers himself on time because he called ahead.

So, rubber-watch Indonesian out there, welcome to the “soft time” zone.
