Three Lessons from Euro 2008

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

This writing is written after Germany made it to the final after defeating Turkey who is a surprise package throughout the tournament. Turkey got a lot of praises even when they lost. Who will be German’s opponents? It could be Russia with their general, Arshavin, or Spain. Some lesson learned in this year’s Championship, here below :

  1. Never give up. Turkey turned the Czech world upside down when they got the last two goals from Nihat Kahveci. Their spirit still burned until the last minutes. Yes, it was maybe has something to do with a little bit of luck as well, but if you didn’t try with all your efforts, how can everyone else knew that you’re worth it?
  2. Knowledge is everything. Russia can defeat Holland because Guus Hiddink. He knows everything about Holland and use it to beat the strongest and the most attractive team in the competition. It’s important to know your opponent so you can anticipate every moves that he had.
  3. Those who can’t play, can only watch. Not just England, but also Indonesia. We watch the game at inappropriate time and risk sleep deprivation. Not to mention unhealthy life. We eat stay up all night medicine. We tells highlights, games, reviews and predictions. We even made our home to match the Euro 2008’s atmosphere. We even follow the quiz to sense the interactive feeling.

Now, let me go back to sleep. Zzzz.
