Hmm hmm hmm..

      And I guess he’s right.

What typically doesn’t make “A quick brown fox jumped over a lazy dog” plagiarism, is that this phrase has come into common usage and people say it frequently such that no one really knows WHO said it first. Plagiarism occurs when you steal the words of a specific writer and DON’T give them credit. There’s nothing wrong with repeating or even printing the words of someone as long as you give them credit.

It depends, of course. If the sentence you gave was a pertinent one from a book that you wrote and I did a review of the book and quoted the sentence with attribution, that would not be plagiarism imho. I also know for a fact it wouldn’t be copyright infringement.

    5. Renee Says:

Plagiarism is definitely stealing. Writing is hard work and to have someone just take your ideas is hurtful. My blog has been plagiarized and I was angrier than hell. Of course it was one of the best posts that I had ever written.

I think I need to take a class on Plagiarism. I’m always scared I’ve done something wrong so I quote, reference…. ’till I’m blue.

I figure better safe than sorry.

I would say unless it’s exact it’s not copied. But heck, what do I know.

    7. Ifa Says:

if it’s factual, like news, i think it wouldnt be plagiarism (unless you copied word per word).
